Cadcorp Announce New Version of mSIS - 06 May 2008

As part of the continuing evolution of mSIS, Cadcorp is pleased to announce the release of mSIS 6.3.848.22.

This release includes considerable improvements in performance and functionality, detailed below:

Significant improvements in performance
Ability to arbitrarily trim (i.e. ‘cookie-cut’) overlays (including MasterMap) for use on the PDA
Export the current view to geo-tiff to create a lightweight raster image for use on the PDA
New automatically populated field and ‘Mandatory’ field functionality available for both simple and XML (branching) schemas
New ‘transfer-to-desktop’ option
New ‘re-use previous attributes’ feature
Re-designed attributes-entry dialog on the mobile device, making it much easier to enter and view attributes and notes etc

GeognoSIS Hot Fix 6.3.823 - 20 March 2008

Important information for users of GeognoSIS

There have been some reported incidents of the GeognoSIS service stopping unexpectedly and frequently on some sites. Cadcorp investigated this further and found that excessive numbers of users trying to access a NOL (Named Object Library) could cause the GeognoSIS service to stop. If you are experiencing such behaviour with GeognoSIS, please contact support@cadcorp.com for the Cadcorp.Geognosis.exe hotfix 6.2.823.

Cadcorp Announces Database Support for OSI and OSNI Large Scale Data - 25 February 2008

Cadcorp has developed two new applications specifically to enable the loading and maintenance of OSI and OSNI Large Scale data in Oracle and PostGIS databases. They allow the user to take NTF data supplied by OSI and OSNI and load this directly into the database. This provides a central repository of data, providing a seamless map base. This has been proven to improve performance over reading the source NTF files at a national level.

To the end user, the appearance of the data has not been changed. Updates of NTF data can be loaded into the database, with the application removing duplicate data. No additional software from Cadcorp is required for end users to access the data once it has been loaded into the database of choice (except for Oracle client when storing the data in Oracle). The Cadcorp OSI Manager and Cadcorp OSNI Manager are availible free of charge to Cadcorp customers who have purchased Map Editor or Map Modeller. Please contact Cadcorp to obtain this product.

Cadcorp Portal Goes Worldwide - 31 January 2008

A warm welcome to new and exisiting users of the Cadcorp Portal.

Cadcorp is pleased to announce that the Cadcorp Portal is now open for use by all Cadcorp partners and customers. After an initial soft launch period with an invited user base, the Cadcorp Portal will now be accessible to users all over the world.

It seeks to become a central resource for exchanging information and experiences between users, providing Cadcorp expertise in the form of a Knowledge Base and providing an upload and download facility for the exchange of data with Cadcorp.

We hope that you find the Cadcorp Portal to be of use. Feedback to Cadcorp can be sent via the Feedback forms on the main page.

Maintenance - 18 January 2008

We have today updated the Customer Portal, you will notice a number of changes:

File Uploads for users now show progress and allow for multiple files to be uploaded at a time.
The Forum area will now allow email notifications of new posts that can be subscribed to by users.
We have moved the portal to a new, more powerful, server that should improve the performance and reliability of the portal.

Some notable aspects of this release are:

Desktop Upgrade Pack no longer required. As you are probably aware, Cadcorp SIS and GeognoSIS have been running in 2 development streams (6.2 and 6.3) which has meant that to get the complete and most up to date functionality, Cadcorp has provided a Desktop Upgrade Pack to apply to 6.2 desktop installations. You will be pleased to hear that in this release Cadcorp has combined the 6.2 and 6.3 release functionality into one single release. There is no need to install the Desktop Upgrade Pack with this release.

Improvements to the Table Window. The Table Window, when used after the Table/Refill Selected command, now display the correct cell values after in-table edits. In addition, repeated redraw commands no longer lead to Items appearing more than once.

Improvements to the OS MasterMap Feature Table. The variation of General Surface Area types have now been correctly classified. This means your data will look different from before but will provide easier recognition of differentiation of the General Surface Area features.
